Background
Betinternet are owned by Webis Holding PLC, the holding company
being listed on London's Alternative Investment Market and based on
the Isle of Man. Betinternet was founded in 1998 and became a PLC
in 2000 before changing its name to Webis Holding in 2007, making
Betinternet one of its leading brands.
They have customers in over 130 countries but the focus is very
much on both the Far East region and the UK, which is reflected in
the markets they offer. They have expanded to encompass an online
casino, live casino (popular in the Far East), online games and
poker and they hold licenses on the Isle of Man and also the Dutch
Antilles.
Betinternet Odds and Markets
As said, there is a deliberate Far East focus at Betinternet
which means that Asian Handicaps are particularly well catered for,
having a dedicated tab. Football is also a stronghold and although
they do not cover as many different national leagues as some
rivals, in the English league they cover down to the seventh tier
(i.e., two leagues beneath the Blue Square Premier).
Their range of markets on each match is not fantastic though,
with, for example, around 16 markets available on a Premier League
game, where rivals may offer up to 180!
In terms of other sports they are fairly conservative, sticking to
the main UK and US sports with little coverage of some of the
smaller European sports such as handball.
Their odds are decent, especially on the Asian Handicap where they
operate to tight margins. Elsewhere they are generally slightly
above average.
Betinternet Bonus Offers and Free Bets
Betinternet offer a 50% cashmatch bonus in the sports book. Bet
at least 10 GBP at 2.00 (evens) or higher and gain your free bet up
to a maximum of 25 GBP. This offer excludes customers from certain
countries so check the site to be sure. The free bet is added
within 48 hours of the qualifying bet settling and must used within
30 days at odds of 2.00 or greater. The stake is not returned with
the free bet, as is the norm.
Other than the opening offer there are few promotions from
Betinternet. They occasionally do cashback specials on events such
as 0-0 in football, they offer best odds guaranteed on the horses
and there is a 100% casino bonus available, but they are not as
generous as some of their more illustrious rivals.
In-Play and Mobile Betting
Although the in-play offering has improved it still lags behind
several other bookmakers. The range of events and number of markets
for each is considerably less than found elsewhere.
They have plenty of matches covered for football and major events
but other sports are almost ignored. The facility has its own area
and tab from the main menu which is good but the interface itself
is limited, not offering the extra information provided
elsewhere.
There is no bonus specifically for mobile users but there is
plenty of information including FAQ and "About" sections. Type
mobile.betinternet.com into your phone's browser and away you
go.
Customer Service
Telephone: +44 1624 698141
Email: info@betinternet.com
Address: Viking House, Nelson Street, Douglas, Isle of Man IM1
2AH
Other contact methods: Live chat, fax (+44 1624 698 134)
Betinternet offer 24/7 live chat but in testing the operatives
were among the least helpful we encountered. They replied promptly
but were a little curt, often referring me to the main website,
which is not particularly constructive. The system allows you to
email or print the transcript which is a nice touch, but service is
about people, and the ones we encountered at this bookie did not
impress.
Having said that, calls and emails were answered without incident
and more complex issues were handled well.
Conclusion
Betinternet are fairly unspectacular all in all. Their free bet
of 50% to 25 GBP is very much indicative of the quality and
standards you will find elsewhere on the site, that is:
reasonable.
The website itself is one of the less cluttered we have
encountered and manages to keep most information close to hand.
That is a plus but the relatively limited number of markets
available and the imperfect customer service are major negatives.
Like the free bet, not quite as good as can be found elsewhere. The
same can be said of the in-play console which is certainly lagging
behind what is expected in this day and age.
In conclusion, they are a fairly middle-of-the-road bookmaker that
occasionally offer great odds and will appeal to anyone who likes
Asian Handicap betting. Horse racing and football are their
strengths and if you're looking to open another account you could
do worse than Betinternet. But, of course, you could also do much
better.
