The Clarets consolidated their seventh-place position on Sunday with a 1-1 draw at Stoke, as Ashley Barnes equalised Badou Ndiaye's early strike.
Barnes' effort saw him move level with Chris Wood on 10 goals for the campaign, while deputy Sam Vokes has also chipped in with four important goals.
The trio have all impressed for Sean Dyche's side and are viable options for the likes of Gudmundsson and January arrival Aaron Lennon when looking to deliver from out wide.
Both men have laid on plenty of opportunities in recent months and the Iceland international admits it breeds confidence when the players know they can rely on those ahead of them.
"Great strikers pop up with the goals and he's (Barnes) been really good this season," Gudmundsson said.
"They've both (Wood and Barnes) been scoring goals which helps the team. It's a great feeling to have two strikers that can score goals.
"We try to get as many crosses in as possible for the two big lads up front. It's great to have two strikers who can score goals waiting in the box
