Background

Part of Nordic Gaming Group Ltd, NordicBet is a relatively new player in the online gaming industry, but already it is making good headway with its well designed sports book, poker, casino, live casino and games products.

As well as English, the website is also available in Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Norwegian, and is therefore making good in-roads with Scandinavian gamblers. With a clean and attractive website and a focus on providing excellent customer service, NordicBet are certainly on the up.

NordicBet Odds and Markets

As their name would suggest, there is good coverage of sports that are popular in Scandinavia, including cross country and alpine skiing. Having said that, the markets they cover most extensively are for football (soccer), and especially English, Spanish and German, and of course the Nordic countries.

In terms of the odds themselves (which are displayed in decimal format, seemingly without the option to change to fractional), they do fall behind some of their more establish rivals. In our tests they only occasionally matched the best price on a particular selection and more often than not offered more miserly odds than the pace-setters.

NordicBet Bonus Offers and Free Bets

The bookie has got a very decent free bet offer available to new sports book customers, as long as you are a new customer from Denmark, Sweden, Finland or Norway, that is.

If you are, when you create a new account they will match your first deposit 100%, up to 100 EUR. Which is nice. If you are based elsewhere, you might be able to find lesser offers available through partner websites, but this is a little hit and miss at present. If NordicBet are serious about expanding beyond the Scandinavian market, they should certainly extend the free bet offer to all customers, in our opinion.

There is nothing in the way of ongoing promotions or offers available for sports book customers,

In-Play and Mobile Betting

Their in-play betting service has recently had something of an overhaul, as indicated by it being referred to on their website as 'New LiveBet' (though you can still choose to view the 'old' LiveBet if you choose).

The dedicated area of the site for in-play betting is simple enough to use, and the layout and user interface is certainly better than their previous, somewhat clunky, offering.

The mobile betting product offered by NordicBet can be accessed on any modern mobile device by visiting mobile.nordicbet.com directly, or by downloading the app from the website. A neat and tidy design that is as easy to use as the website, this is an area in which NordicBet certainly compete with some of their larger rivals.

Customer Service

Email: support@nordicbet.com

Other contact methods: Live chat

Despite professing to have a live chat facility, on the occasions we tried to access it to make enquiries it was unavailable. When trying to select it from the drop-down help menu it simply did not work, then when we checked in the support area of the site it informed us that there was 'no one available' and encouraged us to 'click to leave a message'.

In response to our email enquiries we were told (when we eventually received a reply) they had technical difficulties with the live chat and that they couldn't say when it would be fixed. Added to that, they didn't answer the questions we asked about what bonuses or promotions they currently offer; instead they suggested we be 'more specific'.

For a company who say they put customer services at the forefront of their product, this is not good enough. Add to that the limited hours of the telephone support, and there is certainly room for improvement here.

Conclusion

All in all we would say that this is a decent bookie, but it is just a shame they do not try to embrace customers outside of their Scandinavian target market. In offering free bets to punters from just a few countries, they are effectively putting off large sections of their potential customer base, who will no doubt go elsewhere.

NordicBet's apparent failure to maintain a satisfactory level of customer support is also a big negative, and if it wasn't for their updated LiveBet and mobile betting products, they would struggle to get any stars from us.

Overall, the bookie has the potential to expand and to offer a more complete experience to online gamblers, but further investment (and perhaps creativity) would be required.
