The Spaniard opted for Alphonse Areola between the sticks for the majority of the first half of the season, with Kevin Trapp forced to sit on the sidelines.
However, Areola's form dropped off ahead of the winter break and Trapp was noticeably given more chances to prove himself in the closing weeks of last year.
Emery is happy for the pair to continue to battle it out for the gloves.
The coach has hinted they will continue to be rotated and says he will make a decision on who gets the nod in the biggest games depending on who makes the most of their chance.
